🌧️💃 The Ridiculously Possible Adventure
Because life is full of things we CAN do.
Somewhere between a perfectly ordinary Tuesday and a terrible idea for a victory dance, a twinkle appears in your eye.
Oh. This could be fun.
Welcome to an Adventure in doing gloriously unnecessary things simply because you can.
An Extremely Unofficial Field Report
Interpretive Dance in the Rain
Jenny and Sassy were practicing agility start-line stays in the rain. Jenny's interpretive dancing wasn't random entertainment—it was the distraction challenge. Spinning, dancing, making ridiculous moves: could anything tempt Sassy to break her position?
Not a chance. Sassy knows the game. She is focused, determined, and absolutely not fooled by Mom's increasingly outrageous choreography. In Sassy's mind: “You can dance, spin, roll on the floor, or do a hundred cartwheels, Mom. I will NOT break my concentration.”
The choreography may be questionable. The dog's commitment is not.
Elsewhere, Sassy was discovered stretched out on a bed she was allegedly not allowed to occupy. When asked, “Are you comfortable?” she answered with nothing but a movement of her eyes.
Some Adventures involve doing something ridiculous. Others involve catching life being ridiculous all by itself.
The Invitation
What Ridiculous Thing Could You Do?
Dance in the rain. Sing an operatic ballad to your dog. Make up a victory dance for unloading the dishwasher. Wear the wonderfully silly hat. Have a dramatic conversation with a houseplant. Try something new and be spectacularly mediocre at it.
Or do nothing at all—just notice the wonderfully absurd little moments that wander through your day.
There is no audience requirement, no talent requirement, and definitely no test of whether you are silly enough to belong.
What can I do?
Apparently, quite a lot. Some of it completely unnecessary. Some of it unforgettable.
An Entirely Unscientific Instrument
✨ The Laugh Meter
Where did the moment take you? Tap the feeling that fits. You can change your mind, and a twinkle counts just as much as a belly laugh. This meter measures absolutely nothing except the delightful variety of being alive.
Where did your ridiculous moment take you?
No score. No leaderboard. No saving or sharing required. Just a little moment of noticing.
A Tiny Question to Carry
What Else Is Possible?
Sometimes we spend so much time looking at what we cannot do that we forget how many wonderfully ridiculous things are still available.
You do not have to pretend the hard things aren't hard. You can make room for those things and still ask: What might make me smile today?
And if the answer is “interpretive dance in a rainstorm,” well, Sassy would like to see the choreography.
A Little Laughter Travels
Feel Like Sharing?
Did you catch a ridiculous moment on camera? Did your dog make you laugh? Did you discover a dance move that should probably never be repeated?
If you feel so inclined, share your moment on Facebook and invite someone else to smile. Or keep it as your own little treasure. Either way, the Adventure counts.
Share if the mood strikes. Laugh because you can.
Before posting a photo or video with other people in it, make sure they're happy to be included.
