Meet Your Trail Guide
Sassy
Apparently she works here.
Sassy is a red bi Australian Shepherd, professional investigator, enthusiastic adventurer, tennis-ball specialist, and your Trail Guide through the Sassiverse.
We should probably clarify the word guide.
Sassy does not have the answers.
She does not know who you should become, which trail you should take, what you should carry in your Backpack, or what any of your discoveries mean.
Those belong to you.
So What Does a Guide Do?
Mostly, She Wanders Beside You.
Sassy may point out a Trail Marker. Lead you toward an Adventure. Deliver a note. Notice something interesting. Investigate a suspicious object. Introduce you to a new corner of the Sassiverse. Or remind you that another trail exists.
She might also become distracted because somebody bounced a tennis ball.
She takes her responsibilities very seriously.
Sassy can point toward a trail.
You decide whether you want to follow it.
A Reasonable Question
Why Sassy?
Sassy is remarkably good at being Sassy.
Not because she is fearless. Not because she always knows what she is doing. And certainly not because she always makes sensible choices.
She explores. She communicates. She learns. She tries again. She has preferences. She notices things. She makes choices. And she approaches much of the world as though it might turn into an Adventure.
Sometimes watching Sassy simply gives us something interesting to wonder about. Not an answer. Not a lesson about how people should behave. Just another little gate into curiosity.
Around here, that is useful experience for a Trail Guide.
One Important Thing
Your Sassy Looks Like You.
You are not here to become more like this dog.
Sassy gets to become more Sassy.
You get to become more you.
Around here, the word Sassy has a little more meaning than you might expect.
In fact, it is important enough that there is a whole little Language Book about it.
