A Sassiverse Adventure

The House of Mirrors

Sometimes the first thing worth noticing is the story playing in your own head.

Enter the House

The Entrance

Something happened.

Someone said something. An experiment failed. An outcome disappeared. A Rock landed in the middle of the Adventure.

Then, often before we notice it happening, a story begins.

What does this mean?

What does it say about me?

What does it say about them?

The Mirror does not tell you the correct story.

It helps you notice that you are telling one.

What did you actually see? What did you experience? What do you know? What did you fill in? What are you afraid this means? Could something else also be true?

You do not have to answer all of that. You do not even have to answer one thing today.

The Mirror is not a verdict. It is somewhere to get curious.

The Most Important Rule

Your Mirror Only.

This Mirror belongs to the person holding it.

It can hold what you saw, heard, experienced, felt, needed, knew, did not know, feared, assumed, and the story playing in your head.

It cannot tell you what is inside someone else's head.

You can wonder about another person's story. You can ask. You can discover new information. But you do not get to grab their Mirror and decide their reflection for them.

And nobody gets to grab yours.

Your Mirror. Your story. Your Becoming.

Finding Words

Sometimes your Mirror becomes language.

Noticing what is happening in your own Mirror can help you find words for your experience without deciding what is inside someone else's.

You do not need perfect words. You do not need a script. Sometimes it is enough to notice which part of the story is yours to tell.

There is a room in this House where you can experiment with that when you are curious.

One Important Detour

You do not have to look right now.

If you are free-falling, pull the Parachute first.

Pause. Find some space. Sit somewhere sunny. Put up a boundary. Come back tomorrow.

You do not have to solve anything while you are overwhelmed.

The Mirror will still be here. There is no prize for figuring yourself out the fastest.

Something Catches the Light

There's something beside your shoe.

You reach down.

It's a tiny mirror—small enough to slip into your Backpack.

The glass flickers once.

Apparently, it has no intention of explaining itself. You can slip it into your Backpack's special compartment, leave it here for now, or come back for it later. The choice is yours.

Sassiverse Backpack Tool

The Assumption Mirror

OPTIONAL TOOL
Purpose
Help you notice the difference between what you know, what you may be filling in, and what else could be here.
Materials
One small Mirror, three curious questions, and permission not to know yet.
Weight
Nearly weightless. Gets considerably heavier when carrying someone else's entire imaginary story.
Magical Properties
Does not reveal what another person is thinking. Does not predict the future. Does make missing pieces considerably easier to spot.

How to Use It

  1. Notice when a story has started forming around missing information.
  2. Ask: What do I know?
  3. Ask: What am I filling in?
  4. Ask: What else could be here?
  5. Choose what you want to do with what you discovered.
Words to Carry“What do I actually know?”

If you choose to carry the Mirror, it fits in a special Backpack compartment. You can set it down, retrieve it, revise how you use it, or outgrow it. There is no requirement to take it today.

The Mirror doesn't decide which story is true. It helps you notice where the story is yours to examine. You decide what comes next.

The Map Unfolds

Where are you curious to go?

You already have enough to leave with the Mirror.

If something here made you curious, there are more doors. Follow them in order, wander wherever you want, or come back three weeks from now when life gives you a completely different question.

No required route. No finish line.
