House of Mirrors

Same Vacation, Different Mirrors

“Wait. We were planning the same vacation?”

Same Vacation. Different Mirrors.

They can both be on the same trip.

Imagine two people planning a vacation.

One has been picturing slow mornings, wandering without a schedule, maybe a book by the water and absolutely no alarm clock.

The other has already found the museum, the boat tour, three restaurants, and a thing involving helmets that apparently must be booked by Tuesday.

Same vacation. Two perfectly real pictures of what they thought they were walking into.

If one Mirror says, “You don't want to spend time with me,” and the other says, “You are trying to control the whole trip,” there may suddenly be a much bigger fight than the itinerary.

This matters to me does not mean this must matter to you identically.

Maybe they make a plan together. Maybe they split up for an afternoon. Maybe somebody discovers they actually love the boat tour. The Mirror does not pick the vacation.

It just makes room to notice: we may be standing in the same place with different reflections.

Through Your Lens

What did each Mirror expect?

What did I picture before we made a plan?

What did the other person actually say they wanted?

Where did I fill in their intentions?

What matters to me that I can ask for without writing their answer?

Could we invent a third plan, or choose separate adventures for a while?

Maybe your trip ends up with the museum and the hammock. Maybe not. No Official Sassiverse Vacation Itinerary will be issued. 😂
