No Assigned Seating
Seeing a seat is not receiving an assignment.
Imagine walking into a room full of chairs and immediately being told:
Excellent. You noticed the green one. You live there now.
That would be weird.
You might have only been wondering why it was green.
Yet possibilities can start sounding exactly like assignments. Someone points out another route and suddenly noticing it seems to mean you are supposed to take it, like it, forgive something, move on, feel grateful, or announce that everything worked out for a reason.
Nope.
Possibility is information, not an assignment.
The seat you are already in may hold a relationship, identity, hope, dream, loss, or future you spent years imagining. Another seat does not become equivalent merely because you can finally see it.
This is one of the strange things about agency: sometimes getting your choices back means discovering more possibilities. Sometimes it means discovering that you are allowed to look at a possibility and say, No, thank you.
Or not yet.
Or I need to know more.
Or even that is an interesting chair and I have absolutely no intention of sitting in it.
What changes when noticing a choice does not obligate you to make it?
You may inspect another seat and stay put.
You may move later. Or never.
You may discover that the seat you already chose is still the one you want—only now it feels more like a choice than a sentence.
Through Your Lens
What changes when a possibility is allowed to remain only a possibility?
Is there a seat you have been treating like an assignment simply because you noticed it—or because somebody else pointed at it?
You are allowed to look. Wonder. Ask questions. Decide you need more information. Stay where you are. Say no. Say not yet. Change your mind later.
Seeing a choice and choosing it are two different things.
The Sunny Seat's job is to make choice visible, not to become one more voice telling you what you should choose.
No assigned seating.
We are surprisingly strict about this. There is no clipboard. There will be no seating chart. Anyone claiming otherwise is probably from another universe.
