Daily Sparkles
Another Color
Contrast, not comparison.
Imagine an enormous canvas. A painting of your life.
There's a little sunshine yellow. A patch of storm-cloud gray. A deep blue that took a while to dry. Maybe a streak of hot pink that arrived without asking permission.
And somewhere near the bottom, a suspicious paw print. The artist's assistant has apparently been here.
Now imagine painting the whole thing in one color. Even your favorite color.
It might be lovely. But look what happens when another color joins it. The yellow seems brighter beside the blue. A tiny flash of orange suddenly catches your eye. The shadows give the light somewhere to shine.
Contrast gives the painting its richness.
Days have contrast, too.
Maybe a day is mostly gray. The plans fall apart. Things feel heavy. Then, for a few seconds, a bunny sits in the clover with its nose going a mile a minute. Or sunlight turns a frosty tree into something glittering. Or a dog does something so ridiculous that laughter escapes before anyone can stop it.
That little moment doesn't erase the gray. It doesn't have to.
It adds another color.
And on an already wonderful day? Another color makes the painting richer still. A sunset and a funny little bug don't have to compete for first place. They're different brushstrokes, each adding something of its own.
Daily Sparkles aren't about finding better moments. They're about noticing more of the colors already in your life.
Some colors are bold. Some are barely-there. Some are best described as Sassy Rolled in Something Again.
So here's a tiny invitation from the Sassiverse painting studio: the next time something catches your attention, imagine one more brushstroke on that big, unfinished canvas.
What color just joined the painting?
